CHRISTMAS VACATION ’08…
The real meaning of Christmas differs from mouth to mouth. Some says that it’s the time of gift giving and receiving. Some also says that it’s the time we buy new clothes, shoes, etc….but, it does not matter how we describe or mean by Christmas as long as we fell the real spirit of it in our hearts, in our minds, and in our souls.Our Christmas vacation started on December 20, 2008. I spent my Christmas vacation at home with my family. But before our Christmas vacation, the Misa de Gallo had already started. On the 16th day of December, I heard my phone ringing that signals me that it’s the start of the Misa de Gallo. So, I woke up early because I want to attend the mass. Even though it was very early, I still attended the Misa de Gallo and I was very happy because I was able to complete it. I tried my very best to wake up early so that I can attend the mass together with my friends.
On Christmas Eve, we had a mass at our church at 10:00 pm. After the mass, we hurriedly went home for the Noche Buena. Then after eating, I went outside to light the firecrackers and fireworks. Then suddenly, Christian approached me and gave his Christmas gift to me. I also gave my gift to him. After that, I went to my Aunt’s house and we chatted with her sister who is working abroad. When I went home, my mother scolded me because it was almost 3:00 am….
On Christmas day, my family and I attended a mass again. I was so tired and so sleepy because I didn’t have enough sleep. At night, my Uncle sponsored a party and we also celebrated the birthday of my cousin. We had a lot of games and of course, prizes too. Christian and I joined a game called “catching egg”. And to my surprise, we won [lol]. But I was very ashamed that time because after the game, the people around were teasing us. But deep inside me, I was so happy…After the party, I thought my that Christmas was perfect already but then, Christian and I had a misunderstanding because of something. Our problem lasted for $ days….still, I was happy again because we were able to solve it………..[lol]
